Deciding to Self Publish

I’ve been doing quite a bit of thinking lately about my current writing goals. The most important goal to me right now is publishing my finished book, A COVID CHRISTMAS STORY.

As I’ve discussed before, my father has Stage 4 cancer. I really want to get my book published and in his hands before I lose him. Since I have no way to guage how long we’ve got left, I find myself getting frantic about how long traditional publishing takes.

I’ve been tossing the ideas around in my head for a few weeks now, and I think I’m going to self-publish the book. I never wanted to self-publish. I have always assumed I would take the traditional publishing path when I was ready to release a book into the world.

I have not come to this decision lightly. But, given the situation, it is, by far, the fastest way to get the book out into the world. I find myself wanting to have it ready to present to my dad for Christmas, so I’m going to move forward with this.

I look forward to sharing more information once I get a bit closer. I have to do a final round of edits to the manuscript before it is ready for publishing.

I can’t wait to share more details with you when I get there!!!

Until next time,

Cathy
