Secret Lover

I don’t understand

the rules between

you and me.

I created the boundaries

but I’ve lost control

Desire crept in

and took over my soul

I want you

and I need you

But I can’t have you

You’ll never be mine

and that hurts me

more than i can say

I’ve always loved you

in a way

I don’t comprehend

always on the periphery

of my awareness

Maybe it’s wrong

but it feels so right

I know it’s a secret

and I cannot keep it

even though its mine
